Directive, possibly with helpful amendments, in May or June.  Detailed

The Green and Liberal Fractions of the European Parliament are calling
on representatives of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to speak at a
hearing on May 8th about the Software Patent Directive Project.

Everybody at the European Parliament is speaking about small and
medium enterprises (SMEs).  Many lobbyists are there every day, asking
for software patents on behalf of SMEs.  But the SMEs themselves are
not there.

So if you go the the parliament directly as a person from a software
company, you are likely to get some attention.

You don't have time?

Then ask yourself: will you have time for dealing with patent
extortion and monopoly software later on?

If that convinces you, here are a few things to do:

(1) Endorse our Amendment Proposals by clicking

(2) Now you are logged into a system which makes it easy to

Não querendo estar a defender o Bloco de Esquerda, mas no entanto, não 
sei se sabes, mas o funcionamento da nossa democracia é algo complexo (e 
por vezes ineficaz), para o projecto de lei ser aprovado ou chumbado tem 
que se fazer algumas coisas antes: em primeiro lugar a discussão do 
projecto lei tem de ser agendada (não sei se já foi), depois o projecto 
de lei tem de ser debatido e aprovado na generalidade, não sei se 
acontece em todos os casos, mas pelo menos em alguns o projecto de lei 
tem de ser discutido e aprovado na comissão responsável por essa área, e 
só depois é que é apresentado ao Presidente da República.

Fiz uma pequena pesquisa no site da Assembleia da República 
(http://www.parlamento.pt/) e reparei que o projecto lei já tem numero 
atribuido pela AR (PROJECTO DE LEI N.º 126/IX).

Sugiro que não critiques o BE por ter deixado cair o projecto de lei, 
com base no teu desconhecimento da actual situação. Mas se souberes algo 
que nós não sabemos, conta-nos, pois é certo que pelo menos eu estou 
curioso por saber qual a actual situação.

Sugiro que a direcção contacte o BE, para saber se a discussão do 
projecto lei já foi agendada.

Pois, o problema =C3=A9 que a Microsoft est=C3=A1 activamente a tentar conv=
encer
universidades e governos de que "o opensource =C3=A9 normalmente mau para a
inova=C3=A7=C3=A3o e desenvolvimento mas que o seu opensource chamado
shared-source lhes faz muito bem".

Quando h=C3=A1 professores universit=C3=A1rios que ou n=C3=A3o sabem o que =
=C3=A9 suposto
ser o "opensource" (ou fazem de conta que n=C3=A3o sabem), facilmente se
abrem as portas para o t=C3=ADpico comportamento monopolista da Microsoft
tentar corromper a inova=C3=A7=C3=A3o em novos produtos Microsoft.
