<p style=" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px; -qt-user-state:0;">Em 1983, o Richard Stallman lançou o movimento de Software Livre com as palavras "Free Unix!". Trinta anos depois, muito mais do que o Unix foi libertado. O sistema GNU é hoje em dia um vasto universo de Sistemas Operativos livres, sistemas de gestão de janelas e outro tipo de programas que servem para qualquer objectivo que se possa imaginar. Mais de 95% dos supercomputadores pelo mundo correm software livre, E estima-se que existem dezenas de milhões de utilizadores de Software Livre pelo mundo.</p>
